Shabbat Metuka
Israel currently has about 180,000 Holocaust survivors.
Shabbat Metuka is the initiative of women who have taken it upon themselves to provide attention to Holocaust survivors and raise awareness in regards to them, on a weekly basis throughout the year.
Every Friday, hundreds of volunteers pay a visit to the holocaust survivor’s homes and deliver a basket full of food products, challah and candles for Shabbat.
These direct visits each Friday to the holocaust survivor’s homes establishes two important connections – a connection between our volunteers themselves and a connection between our volunteers, which present the youth, and our holocaust survivors. The later enhances a sense of giving to people who constitute an important tier in the history of the Jewish people.
our collaborations

Hagai- an Application for Distributing Food Baskets
Noam Henig, founder of the Hagai App, donated to Shabbat Metuka and other organizations the app he developed that helps volunteers distribute food baskets easily and quickly. Thanks to Noam, Shabbat Metuka receives real-time reports and gets a visual picture of the distribution status.

Leket Israel
Shabbat Metuka has expanded its volunteering activities thanks to the help of Leket Israel, which has taken Shabbat Metuka under their full sponsorship, donating fresh produce that comes directly from various local farmers and providing a supportive and productive environment as every charity needs, including fundraising.

Sahi
The Sahi charity, a charity which cares for at-risk youth, in involved every week in packing food baskets and the delivery system in Jerusalem. Thanks to the Sachi charity, Shabbat Metuka is able to reach about 200 homes of survivors in the city of Jerusalem, something that could not have been done without their help and support.
